It's okay. They were quite large already, so they may have wandered off to start turning into butterflies. Either that some birds had a really really nice meal. Either way, you've contributed to the circle of life in your back yard. Isn't that nice? Seems like lots of gardeners plant extra of those herbs that the cats like, like fennel and dill and parsley, and plant them in separate places so that you can transfer them to the approved plants and still have some to use in cooking. I hope for my cats to eat my fennel before anybody starts thinking I should cook something with it.
